Thermal comfort: Diasen decorative solutions

Diasen thermal paint contributes to the living comfort of living spaces all year round. In the context of a system of insulation from heat and cold, the thermal paint of the Decork line allows to improve the thermal performance already from the outermost layer of the stratigraphy of the materials that make up the building envelope.

“From the Garden House” is the name given by the Polish architect Robert Konieczny, who heads the KWK Promes studio, to a striking private residence designed in Łąka, Poland; a project of refined beauty described by The Plan – Architecture & Technologies in Detail Architecture Magazine, one of the most prestigious international architecture magazines.

Technical insights

Decork Façade thermal paint was the most appropriate solution to ensure high levels of thermal insulation commensurate with the challenge of the harsh Polish winters. In order to protect the first floor of the building, which houses the owners’ rooms, it was necessary to design a façade that could not only withstand the downpours, but also, and above all, the changes in water conditions (rain, ice and humidity).

In addition, to ensure that the façade was not subject to any risk of erosion and did not absorb rainwater during the frequent storms in this region, the water-repellent solution BKK Eco was applied, an environmentally friendly sealant that protects the surfaces by preventing them from absorbing water.

Living comfort: how thermal paints contribute to insulation against heat and cold

The pandemic has contributed to a change in the perception of the living environment. Transforming your home and work space into a new, healthier environment, without sacrificing comfort, is not trivial. In fact, the world of thermal paints is not so simple, and many times, it is difficult to find your way around the thousands of solutions on the market.

So let’s find out what thermal paint is and why it is the choice that is not only good for the home, but is also an investment (given its higher cost compared to normal decorative paints) for saving energy and reducing heating and cooling costs in living spaces.

Thermal paint alone cannot act as thermal insulation. To think that a few millimetres of thickness would be enough to provide adequate thermal insulation is wrong. However, thermal paint plays an important role in contributing to thermal insulation, especially in terms of perception. Not only does it contribute to lowering or raising (depending on the season) the temperature of the surface where there is already thermal insulation, but also and above all in terms of perception. Touching the wall, in fact, one can see that it is closer to the temperature of the internal environment than to the external environment from which the internal environment is to be insulated.
