A project to enhance international relations thanks to the important know-how of Diasen in the field of thermal insulation and waterproofing solutions; solutions that allow to operate in countries and situations characterized by extreme climatic conditions.

The general framework

Integration between Western nations and the countries of the former Soviet Union is also realised through the transfer and marketing of value-added products, able to satisfy needs that require high technology solutions.

In this context of enhancement of the relations between countries Diasen has an important know-how in the field of thermal insulation and waterproofing solutions, i.e. in two sectors of the chemical building industry where the evolution of products allows to intervene in countries and situations strongly characterized by the criticality generated by extreme climatic situations.

Natural and cork based thermal plasters produced by Diasen allow to obtain important performances of thermal insulation from heat and cold, suitable to the peculiar characters of the continental climate of the considered area. A similar reasoning can be developed in the field of waterproofing where Smart Drying Technology by Diasen allow applications even in critical climatic conditions as they are resistant to low temperatures (0°C°) and high relative humidity.

Consequently markets like Russia and other neighbouring countries, suffering from aggressive climatic conditions, difficult to control and manage, represent an opportunity to make known Diasen solutions developed over the years and to transfer in those markets products with high technical content able to solve problems related to the world of thermal insulation and waterproofing.

The project contents

The project aims to develop a strategy to penetrate the Russian and neighbouring markets – characterised by critical climatic conditions – by exploiting the company’s thermal insulation technologies, based on cork-based products and waterproofing agents resistant to low temperatures.

The objective of the “Internationalisation project towards ex-Soviet Union countries” is to obtain an increase in turnover capable of characterising itself as a minimum positioning base in the markets considered and as an economic “springboard” for the realisation of ad hoc formulations for ex-Soviet Union countries in the field of thermal insulation and waterproofing.

A significant increase in turnover was achieved, divided into different product categories, which was commercially appreciated by many customers. The area of thermal insulation is the one that recorded the highest incidence on the turnover achieved.

EU financial support

The Internationalisation Project towards former Soviet Union countries, in its components of market research, marketing policies and assessment of insulation and waterproofing needs, was made possible thanks to co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund.

The Union’s financial support was of particular importance and relevance because the policies of commercial penetration of small and medium-sized enterprises involve investments whose size often constitutes a constraint and barrier to entry. Co-financing policies, on the other hand, allow a redistribution of financial weight that is amply compensated for by the results obtained by Diasen with this project.
