Pre-cast bentonite waterproofing
The pre-cast bentonite waterproofing is a proven construction technology now able to completely isolate the same structure of the foundation of a building from the surrounding soil, thereby preventing any infiltration from the ground, which may rise through the foundations of a building.
The bentonite waterproofing is realized through the use of geocomposite sheets filled with natural sodium bentonite, a material that, in contact with moisture, can become a highly waterproofing gel, thus realizing the waterproofing layer.
The bentonite sheets are laid on lean mix foundation and covered by concrete casting of foundation . The waterproofing castings are instead sealed with bentonite curbs flat and set within the formwork, directly on the foundation. Once thrown vertical shooting, the curb is able to seal the very basis of the recovery, thus preventing the infiltration of what is a desolidarised from the rest of the foundation.
